Achievements

Dales Housing has been determined to be successful from day one. Of greatest importance to us is that we keep our promises to existing and future customers and deliver a high quality service. Due to a dedicated and committed workforce we have worked with our partners to achieve many successes since our formation in 2002. These have included:

  • Spending £39 million on major repairs and improvements, to successfully deliver the promises we made to tenants at transfer
  • ''Providing a good, 2 star housing service that has promising prospects for improvement'' - Audit Commission Housing Inspectorate, December 2006 
  • Receiving national recognition of our innovative approach to letting bedsit accommodation
  • Introducing new, convenient payment methods for tenants
  • Achieving Client Charter status enabling us to receive funding to build new, affordable homes
  • Completion of our first new development scheme comprising 22 new homes at Tideswell - 8 for shared ownership and 14 for rent
  • Creating jobs, including apprenticeships and providing training and development opportunities for our employees
  • Implementing extensive new IT systems to improve service delivery and efficiency
  • Achieving the National Code of Practise for our sheltered housing service
  • Achieving 4 green lights under the Housing Corporation Regulatory Code for performance, in respect of management, development, viability and governance


To date, we have worked with our customers and partners to provide:  

  • 1670 homes with window replacements and 1346 door replacements  
  • 1080 homes fully rewired  
  • 1000 central heating replacements / upgrades 
  • 978 homes with kitchen replacements  
  • 992 homes with bathroom replacements
  • 159 homes with disabled adaptations  
  • 2425 homes fitted with hard-wired heat and smoke detectors  
  • 1639 homes with improved loft and cavity wall insulation
  • A programme of structural repair and refurbishment to non-traditional homes commenced in September 2003 and was completed in March 2007. A total of 321 properties have been refurbished.
