The Acclaim Housing Group recognises the importance of providing a website that is available for all users regardless of technology or ability. We have developed several accessibility features on this website that should give people with disabilities easier access to the information.
This website aims to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for XHTML and CSS. The website is built to display correctly in all current browsers.
Links throughout the site are underlined, bold and written to make sense out of context.
All links to external websites open up a new browser window.
All main images in the content used in this site contain descriptive ALT attributes (alternative).

We have tried to make it quick and easy for you to get to the information you want. With this in mind we have developed several ways to navigate to information:
The text on this site has been designed in such a way that it allows you to control the size of the text using your browser or our text resizing buttons.
Throughout the website there are text size icons at the top of each page, simply click on one of the "a" signs to increase or decrease the text size on screen.
Alternatively you can use you browser to resize;
Internet Explorer 5+: In Microsoft Internet Explorer - go to the 'View' menu and move down to 'Text Size', then select a different size from the menu.
Firefox: In Mozilla Firefox - go to the 'View' menu and move down to 'Text Size', then select 'Increase' or 'Decrease' from the menu.
Opera 9: Click View then Zoom. Select 100% for default size. Adjust as needed.
Using Google™ translation service (free online tools), this site can be translated into various different languages.
Please note: Some graphics may remain in English, however, they all use 'alt' attributes which will be translated into the chosen language.
A text only version of the site can be accessed from the top navigation bar. Whilst these pages are not strictly text only, they do offer quicker loading and are useful if you do not need images or have a slow internet connection.
Other files downloadable from this site - including, Microsoft Office Word documents and Adobe PDF files - may present accessibility problems. If you have any problems accessing these or any other information on the site, please contact us and we will try to provide the information in an appropriate format.
It is important that we know how accessible you think this website is so we can continue to improve it. If you have trouble accessing any area of the site, then please let us know, by completing our website feedback form below.
All the questions on the form below are optional, we do not ask for any contact information unless you want a reply.
