Dales Housing aims to meet the housing needs of local people who have a genuine requirement to move to accommodation within the Derbyshire Dales. The criteria set out in the Home-Options policy is used to assess the level of priority home seekers have.

The Home-Options policy is available from Derbyshire Dales District Council or Dales Housing or can be viewed or downloaded from the website:

www.home-options.org.

To be eligible for accommodation you must register on Home-Options. Once registered Derbyshire Dales District Council will assess your need for a move and will write to give you a reference number and tell you which band A,B,C or D you have been placed in and your priority date.

Available properties are advertised on the website www.home-options.org and on the Home-Options property list. You can then bid by post, text, telephone, or on-line.

As a tenant you have the right to exchange your tenancy and home with another Dales tenant, or a tenant from another Registered Social Landlord or Local Authority. You must not however carry out any exchange without the written permission from your landlord and the landlord of the tenant you are wishing to exchange with.

If you wish to advertise for a Mutual Exchange you can register on www.home-options.org which means that your home will be advertised for other tenants to see. You can also use this website to look for another property to exchange with.

Once you have found someone to exchange with you must write to Dales Housing requesting permission to exchange. We will then examine the application and within 42 days either approve or reject the request to exchange. If we do refuse your application we will always give you the reasons for doing so.

The criteria set out in the Home-Options policy, which is available from Dales Housing or can be viewed or downloaded from the website www.home-options.org , is used to assess the level of priority tenants who request a transfer to alternative accommodation have.

To be eligible for a transfer to alternative accommodation you must register on Home-Options. Once registered we will assess your need for a move and will write to give you a reference number and tell you which band A,B,C or D you have been placed in and your priority date. Available properties are advertised on the website www.home-options.org and on the Home-Options property list. You can then bid by post, text, telephone, or on-line.
