As a general rule, if you live in a house, you are allowed to keep one dog and one cat, caged birds, fish and small caged animals without obtaining written approval.
However, permission must be sought if you wish to keep more than one dog or cat or any other types of animal.
All animals must be kept in accordance with the law and you must keep any animal or pet under control at all times. This means that you must not allow any animal to foul or damage your home or any other property, or cause any nuisance or annoyance to anyone else.
If your pet or pets cause persistent nuisance to others we may request that you seek alternative accommodation for them. If you fail to do this we can commence legal action against you because you will be breaching your tenancy conditions. People who live in Sheltered Housing are not generally allowed to keep dogs or cats.
